How It All Began
Tropik was founded by Michael Martin, an Australian entrepreneur with nearly 30 years of experience across hospitality, tourism, and lifestyle development throughout Southeast Asia.
After first discovering Lombok more than two decades ago, he saw the incredible potential of Selong Belanak long before it became one of Indonesia’s most sought-after destinations. Tropik was created from that long-term belief in the island combining contemporary accommodation, wellness, sport, and community into a resort experience that feels modern, welcoming, and deeply connected to nature.
